Ylang Ylang Complete Essential Oil is derived from the steam distillation of the plant’s sea star-shaped flowering parts. It is known to have a scent that can be described as sweetly and delicately floral and fresh with a fruity nuance.
Ylang Ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 meters (60 feet) high with large fragrant, pink, mauve or yellow flowers; yellow heads are viewed as being the best in terms of quality.
There are 5 varieties of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil available worldwide.
The fifth variety is the one MrandMrsNurse have sourced here. It is referred to as Ylang Ylang Complete. This final distillation of Ylang Ylang is typically achieved after it has been distilled for 6-20 hours. It retains the characteristic rich, sweet, floral scent; however, its undertone is more herbaceous than the previous distillations, thus its general scent is lighter than that of Ylang Ylang Extra.
The name ‘complete’ refers to the fact that this variety is the result of a continuous, undisturbed distillation of the Ylang Ylang flower.
Many essential oil lovers feel the 'complete' distillation yields the most representative collection of Ylang Ylang compounds.
Like wine everyone enjoys different aromas and of course taste, so you judge if you like this aroma. MrandMrsNurse will be adding additonal Ylang Ylang versions very soon.
We blog about the difference Ylang Ylang's, however you should know the Ylang Ylang Complete MrandMrsNurse source is one of the best available.
